Colorado Therapy and Home Modifications strives to maximize health, well being, and quality of life for people who wish to age in place in their home safely and successfully.

We provide mobile Physical and Occupational Therapy outpatient services.

Tired of endless doctors appointments? Our mobile clinic format allows us the freedom to come to you! Our clients participate in therapy from the comfort of their own homes and communities, allowing us to address your functional limitations in the spaces where they actually happen, increasing efficacy of treatments and promoting independence.

We can provide a comprehensive home safety and accessibility assessment by a licensed occupational therapist who is also an aging in place specialist. You will receive recommendations specific to your needs that may include home modifications, adaptive equipment to ease activities of daily living, referral for physical therapy evaluation, and/or fall prevention strategies.

Home Modifications

Occupational therapists have a unique understanding of how the design of our environmental spaces influence our ability to participate in daily life and maximize independence. We offer consultation services for home safety evaluations and recommend home modifications to increase safety & independence at home. Additionally, we maintain close relationships with trusted, licensed contractors in Colorado Springs to complete high-quality home modifications.

In home Physical and Occupational Mobile Therapy

Colorado Therapy and Home Modifications utilizes a mobile practice model, allowing us to break away from the restrictions of typical outpatient therapy clinics. By providing therapy in clients' own homes, we are able to meet clients in their own spaces to address their occupational challenges in the environments where they actually occur. This supports the efficacy of occupational therapy and/or physical therapy treatments, and promotes success and independence for clients and their family members.

Future Planning

The biggest mistake people make is to wait for a crisis to happen (ex. a disabling fall) before making changes to the home. The caregivers are left scrambling for answers and don’t know where to turn. A few changes to the home now can enable a person to live safely and independently for years to come.

An Occupational Therapist who is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist with an Executive Certification in Home Modifications is what makes our company stand out.

When a person wants to age at home, there are ways to make it easier for the person to get into the bathroom or shower, reach the frequently used items in the kitchen, or get up the stairs to go to bed.

  • The therapist will find ways to "fall proof" the home. A serious fall is the number one threat to an older person’s independence and ability to stay living at home.

  • You can expect to go room by room with the occupational therapist while she observes you step in/out of the shower, get out of bed, or climb the stairs. She will listen to your wants and needs and come up with simple to complex ideas and short term versus long term solutions that will improve the safety and accessibility of the home.

  • The occupational therapist will provide a list of recommendations that include strategies for widening pathways/doorways, removing trip hazards, installing bathroom equipment, adding light to areas, re-organizing cabinets, adaptive aids to daily living, and reputable contractors who can do the work.

  • Every situation is different and the therapist draws upon 19 years of experience to tailor solutions that are just right for the person.

  • Our company offers Physical and Occupational Therapy services to help you meet goals of strength, balance, and wellness to help you remain in the house you call home.
